No, I have not heard of such a thing....the mom needs to be apart of ur special day.

I have heard that, yes. HOWEVER, i do not know anyone that has had the mother of the bride miss the ceremony... Never. I believe it is a very very old superstitious thing people did. If the brides mother is alive and well, she should be at the wedding.
